Divided Heaven Releases “The Filthy 15”

*The Following Press Release Was Issued By Part Time PR*

Divided Heaven “The Filthy 15” Premiere

The ability for Divided Heaven to shift between a delicate Americana song to an overdrive rock sing-a-long is a testament to Jeff Berman’s songwriting abilities. Divided Heaven has an eclectic list of influences and doesn’t shy away from the challenge of incorporating those varying styles in the grand scope of the bands output. Last month, Divided Heaven released a cover of The Beatles “In My Life” and while that song was a solo endeavor, their new single, “The Filthy 15” sounds like it was plucked from Green Day’s discography. Produced by Nick Ruroede (Lost in Society), “The Filthy 15” is an ode to the dangerous side of rock music. “The sight of Motley Crue & Def Leppard records being tossed into the fire at a rally was supposed to scare me out of wanting to listen to their music. It had the opposite effect.” – Jeff Berman. “The Filthy 15” was released by Wiretap Records. You can stream it at American Songwriter.

Bio:

DIVIDED HEAVEN is the brainchild of singer/songwriter/troubadour/frontman Jeff Berman; a punk rock lifer delivering catchy, thought-provoking songs. Think Shout At The Devil meets Tapestry and you’ll find a unique space where the DIVIDED HEAVEN catalogue thrives and engages listeners, just as Berman has been doing—on stage and on record—for years. Jeff Berman writes songs that evoke images of heartache and longing, as well as forgiveness and reconciliation, with the focus on powerful and poetic lyrics.

“The sight of Motley Crue & Def Leppard records being tossed into the fire at a rally was supposed to scare me out of wanting to listen to their music. It had the opposite effect. I fell in love with music, rock music, at the height of the Satanic Panic movement in the 80s. This song is for everyone who’s led good, interesting, dangerous, musical lives in the face of all that fear-mongering, “The Filthy 15,” the PMRC and conservative poison.” – Jeff Berman
