From Silence to Celebration, the New York Philharmonic’s 2021–22 season-opening program, is available to stream on NYPhil+ now. The concerts, conducted by Music Director Jaap van Zweden, took place September 17–19, 2021, at Alice Tully Hall and marked the Orchestra’s first live subscription concerts since March 2020. This concert was recorded on September 18 and will be available to stream until December 15.

The program includes Anna Clyne’s Within Her Arms, Copland’s Quiet City (featuring Philharmonic English horn / oboe Ryan Roberts and Principal Trumpet Christopher Martin as soloists), Walker’s Antifonys and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4, with Daniil Trifonov as soloist. Poet Mahogany L. Browne recites both the verse that gives Clyne’s work its title and the World Premiere of her own poem Country of Water.

Subscriptions to NYPhil+ are $4.99 / month or $50 / year. Click here for an updated listing of content available on NYPhil+.
