Be prepared to feel the “glow.”
Set for the Summer with a sexy, synth-wave sound, Allen Paris has debuted his new EP ‘Glow’ via EFG Music/Sony Orchard and has been featured on Spotify’s “Release Radar” playlist with the single “Strange Summer.”
A sleek mixture of pop, R&B and urban, Paris wrote the songs himself under the guise of producer Fingazz, all set around a story of hope, dreams of success, love and beauty.
The Music Bugle had the chance to talk with Paris about ‘Glow’ and more.
Music Bugle – How would you say 2021 has treated you so far?
Allen Paris – That’s a tough one to answer, if I’m completely honest! (Laughs) I guess it’s been fair, since I’m alive answering this question. Let’s just say there’s been some ups and some downs.
Music Bugle – What scares you the most about being a “new artist”?
Allen Paris – I would rephrase that and say I’m more anxious – rather than “scared” – to see and hear the reactions of the masses to my music. That can always be a bit difficult.
Music Bugle – What was it like putting together your new EP?
Allen Paris – Nothing less than amazing. Every song had its own special feeling when creating them.
Music Bugle – How have you been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic?
Allen Paris – The same as anyone else, I would think. I mean, who likes being on lockdown, restricted from going to some of your favorite places, seeing your family, friends etc.? However, happy to be alive and working through it as best as I can. All glory be to God.
Music Bugle – What has been your proudest accomplishment so far?
Allen Paris – My children.
Music Bugle – What excites you the most about your style of music?
Allen Paris – Never been asked this before, but I would say the fact that I’m not restricted with the creation of it.
Music Bugle – Which of your songs were the hardest to write?
Allen Paris – When I create, I don’t have those type of thoughts going through my head. Each individual song has its own complexity and that’s a part of the process, so songwriting isn’t hard to me. It’s more of an exciting linguistic journey.
Music Bugle – What’s a quote that motivates you to keep doing what you do?
Allen Paris – “Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor.”
Music Bugle – Where do you go when you need a break?
Allen Paris – The golf course.
Music Bugle – Who are you listening to right now, music-wise?
Allen Paris – I’m currently listening to WizKid & Kanye West’s “Jesus Is Born.”
