Volgorod-based modern metal act The Part Of Us recently premiered their new single “Мой мир (My World),” featured on their full-length album ‘Собирая части (Collecting Parts),’ which dropped on Feb. 14, 2021 via Ground Media Group.

The Part Of Us are vocalist Victor Kagitin, guitarist Michael Lihanov, drummer Vadim Ponomarev, bassist Dmitry Rozenblyum and guitarist Sergey Sinelnikov.

The Music Bugle had the opportunity to talk with the band about the new single and more.

Music Bugle – How did you choose the name of your band?

Dmitry Rozenblyum – After a lot of thoughts, we chose “The Part Of Us,” ’cause each of our tracks are really part of us and a part of our collaborative creativity. Each of us are involved in the creating of our music.

Victor Kagitin – Yes, just what we do inside the band. I mean, the music, creation – is really part of us.

Music Bugle – What inspired your latest single?

Dmitry Rozenblyum – For “My World,” we were inspired by the fight, the sense of battle between good and evil. Inside each of us always exists competition of light and dark power. I mean, every person could be an evil to itself.

Michael Lihanov – The song has a lot of drive!

Music Bugle – What makes you the most proud about where you come from?

Dmitry Rozenblyum – We guess it is our history. Our country has a great heroic past and this makes us proud of our country, first of all.

Music Bugle – How was it recording your new album?

Victor Kagitin – Very, very hard, very heavy. It was a lot of unexplainable reasons and unexpected circumstances, but at least we did it. The work under recording of this album showed us a new side of our art and we’d increase our level as musicians.

Dmitry Rozenblyum – We had plenty of music material, so some tracks we delayed, some were cancelled. We had a problem of misunderstanding between us. It was a heavy deal, but at the same time, we gave concerts. We record two single – “Gorgon” and “Spark,” but in fact, we’d beat it. We did our best and it is pretty fine, isn’t?

Michael Lihanov – Ufff… We met a great number of challenges. It was more serious than I thought. Unfortunately, it was many private things during recording sessions. Anyhow, we finished and we won.

Music Bugle – How have you been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic?

Dmitry Rozenblyum – We almost haven’t suffered from this situation. I guess, the self-isolation was more terrible for us. It was difficult to change our way of living and adapt to the new life. We worked online and even made some things before all this pandemic horror.

Vadim Ponomarev – They closed all places and stole all our live viewers.

Michael Lihanov – Luckily, me and all my loved ones didn’t catch this virus.

Music Bugle – Away from music, what’s something people might be surprised to know about the band?

Michael Lihanov – I am fond of sports. I prefer tennis.

Music Bugle – What’s a quote that motivates you to keep doing what you do?

Victor Kagitin – No quote, but we’ve got a lot of history together. I am motivated by the idea to leave something behind in the ocean of music.

Vadim Ponomarev – “I am the provider of my life.”

Michael Lihanov – “It is useful to ask the right question,” by Roger Federer.

Music Bugle – What’s something you wish happened more in today’s music industry?

Victor Kagitin – Cancel borders between countries. Promote platforms of different kinds of art. I would like to meet musicians from all over the world.

Alex (Sound Engineer) – Surely, more concerts and shows!

Michael Lihanov – I want people to improve their sense of music. People should know the value of a musician’s job.

Music Bugle – Where do you go when you need to escape?

Victor Kagitin – To my repetition.

Michael Lihanov – Sometimes, I want to go away from everything.

Music Bugle – What do you listen to nowdays?

Vadim Ponomarev – I don’t have a strict answer. I am inspired by various songs.

Michael Lihanov – Lamb Of God are pretty impressive. They create high-quality music.

Dmitry Rozenblyum – I enjoy music. I listen to almost everything.
