French Space/fuzz/ambient/post-everything/noise One-Man-Band L’Orchidée Cosmique shares new Live Session recorded in a bus / New EP ‘M87’ out now. |
A couple of months after the official release of ‘Vision / SF12,’ French Space-Noise Fuzz-Post-Metal one-man-band L’Orchidée Cosmique aka Flo P. (bass/fuzz/synth/looper) is back with another short-length record called ‘M87,’ out now on CD and Digital. L’OC shared a first glance from its effort with a live session recorded in a bus while ‘Vision S/F12’ also released in a very limited collector LP edition on Bandcamp. |
Official statement about ‘M87’ “Composed naturally, without constraint, during confinement and recorded in June 2020 at Warmaudio de Décines (Lyon suburb), this EP was inspired by SciFi Z movies. These four titles were thought of as if a cosmonaut crew landed on a new planet. More synths than in the old recordings, still fuzzy riffs and even more pedalboards underfoot …” |
…For the record… It has been since the end of 2015 that the one man band, L’Orchidée Cosmique makes gravitate its riffs in orbit around planet Earth. Alone on board, Flo distills with its bass, its synth and its pedals of effects a musical mix that calls as much for the peaceful trips in weightlessness as for the rough landings of fortune. A flight plan between Mogwai’s leaded post-rock, the Sonic Youth noise emergency or A Place To Bury Strangers and the magnetic fuzz of Torche. Pieces sometimes complex, often tortuous, but on arrival, always accessible music. |
