The Bedroom Witch shares new single to raise funds for artists affected by COVID-19
In response to COVID-19, The Bedroom Witch, the dark-pop/electronics project of Los Angeles-based recording and performance artist Sepehr Mashiahof, shares a new single “Rooze Roshan.”
“‘Rooze Roshan’ is both a celebratory track release for the Persian New Year of this next decade as well as an opportunity to raise funds for those who I know are the most directly affected in our creative communities by this pandemic,” informs Mashiahof.
“Any $1 (or more if you have the funds) is greatly appreciated in order for me to send substantial amounts of funding directly to people’s Venmos/Cashapps who I’ve seen struggle currently within our collective situation. If you donate $10 or more, I will mail out the most recent ‘Bizarre/Bazaar Times’ Bedroom Witch shirt please DM me on instagram (@bedroomwitch) or twitter (@TheBedroomWitch) with your size/address and I’ll send them out as soon as I can. Enjoy the track, I sing in Farsi and my parents collaborated on the magic of this production.”

The Bedroom Witch’s story-telling concept album, Diaspora, came out last year via Psychic Eye Records and it is available on CD, cassette, and digital formats. Delivering ‘80s-inspired haunting synths and longing vocal, this album investigates The Bedroom Witch’s origin story as an Iranian-American Trans Woman. In the melancholy of the new album’s narrative, each song weaves together messages from ultra-dimensional entities that describe a way to overcome the core struggle in the first-generation immigrants’ experience — alienation in a new world.
