‘Smoke and Water’ is a mix of Rogo original material and “covers,” though it may take a minute to realize it with the way she transforms others’ songs into her own creations. On ‘Smoke and Water,’ you will find haunting and emotional twists on Carole King’s “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” a version of Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” that would make the queen of country smile and her interpretation of Jimi Hendrix “Voodoo Child” would be sure to make him proud.

On the album, she not only makes cover songs her own, but she also shines as an original songwriter, as she pours herself into her songs and showcases her mesmerizing vocals. On the opening track “Pieces,” she empowers with her hypnotic vocals followed by the standout “Here Goes Nothing,” highlighted by her skillful guitar playing.  The title track “Smoke And Water,” was inspired by the recent California wildfires and Rogo’s words and voice are both captivating.  Throughout the ten-song-set you will find Rogo playing both guitar and clarinet, she co-produced with Mitchell Haeuszer who also lends backing vocals and his soulful piano skills to the songs.

After a chance meeting at the Durango Songwriter Expo, Rogo signed a deal with Funzalo Records in 2018, and they quickly released “Live at Lestat’s West” a collection of her original songs recorded live at Lestat’s in San Diego. Since then, Rogo has shared the stage with artists Joe Bonamassa, Jimmie Vaughan, Larkin Poe, and Jimmie Vivino to name a few and led her band in slots at festivals throughout the country.

On a continuous journey of creating Rogo is currently working on a new album with co-writes and production by notable producer David Ricketts (David and David, Toni Childs, Sheryl Crow, Meredith Brooks) to be released in 2020.
