| Listen to our blissful and bouncy new single, “Color Blind.” The verse of this song is a lonely dark club, with a chorus that sounds like a beach vacation. “Color Blind” began as a dark early 2000s pop idea that I had started with some placeholder lyrics. When my co-writer, Chris Sloane, heard that melody, she had the idea for chorus lyrics which tell the story of the malaise of life until somebody comes along and shows you how great life can be. Cooking dinner that night after we finished writing the song, I realized that those new chorus lyrics had such a fun danceable cadence to them. I kept hearing this new disco-esque chord progression under them, so I reworked the music in the chorus to match that feeling that the lyrics were invoking. We collaborated with Ethan Johnson to shoot the music video for “Color Blind” (released November 17th) on location across the badlands in and around Drumheller, Alberta. It depicts three friends helping another discover joy in life again by taking him on a road trip to see the beauty of the world that he hadn’t been able to on his own.
