DallasK Unleashes New Single, “Exceso” (Feat. GALE), Out Now Via Astralwerks

DallasK And GALE First Collaborated Together On “Santo” (With Ozuna), From Christina Aguilera’s Latin GRAMMY® Award-Winning Album, Aguilera
DallasK released his new single, “Exceso” feat. GALE, via Astralwerks. The chart-topping producer is the first to sample the hit single “Candy” from Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Plan B, a song that charted in the top 20 of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs, Latin Airplay and Latin Rhythm Airplay charts in 2014. DallasK infuses the track with a hypnotic air of mystery and, keeping pace with the infectious beats, GALE delivers the racy, rapid-fire lyrics with entrancing ease. “GALE and I were listening to Plan B’s ‘Candy’ on the way to the studio one day and it hit me that you could make a really cool dance version of this song,” DallasK recalls. “I asked her to sing the hook when we got there and we finished the song in just a couple hours.”

After meeting in 2019, the two artists first collaborated together on Christina Aguilera’s “Santo” (with Ozuna), the lead single on her 2022 album, Aguilera, which has been nominated for a long list of awardsAs co-writers (and with DallasK as a co-producer on the song), the pair were overjoyed this week to see the album receive two GRAMMY® nominations in the Best Latin Pop Album and Best Immersive Audio Album categories. The album won a Latin GRAMMY® Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. “Santo” was nominated for Best Urban Fusion/Performance and DallasK received a Latin GRAMMY® nomination for Best Urban Song Of The Year for his work as a songwriter and lone producer on Nicky Jam’s hit “Ojos Rojos.”

“My first songwriting session in Los Angeles ever was with DallasK. We’ve worked a lot together, especially during the pandemic via Zoom. I can honestly say that creatively, we’re like soulmates. We’re currently working on my debut album together and it’s very exciting,” says GALE, who gave her new single, “D-Pic,” which was produced by DallasK, its television performance debut earlier today on “Despierta America.”

“‘Exceso’ means a lot to me because I’ve been in clubs in Puerto Rico and Miami when the original comes on and, 10 years later, it still crushes every time. I’m super grateful to Plan B and the original writers who cleared us to release this version and continue the legacy that they created with ‘Candy,’” explains Dallas K. “Over the last several years, I’ve expanded my work as a producer/songwriter as well as an artist and ‘Exceso’ is the first step in combining all of the sounds and genres that I work in and love. I moved to Miami last year and working with numerous Latinx artists, writers and producers I was influenced and inspired by not only the current music, but past hits as well.”

About GALE

GALE (pronounced GAH-leh) is a Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and, above all, a woman with a free spirit and vibrant energy. Her latest releases characterize her unique ability to explore the human condition and its relationships and the tracks tease her forthcoming debut project slated for release this year.

Her solo debut comes after a successful musical career as a songwriter. She has earned the respect and recognition of her peers in the industry, such as Anitta, Shakira, Juanes, Christina Aguilera, Pharrell Williams, Cardi B, Lele Pons, Manuel Turizo, David Bisbal, Greeicy, Pablo Alborán, Myke Towers, Wisin & Yandel, among others whom she has previously written with.

With GALE’s first single, “Inmadura,” the songstress invited us to acknowledge how immature we can be, especially at the end of a relationship. The follow-up single, “Problemas,” showcased her blunt and bold lyrics as she examined a toxic relationship. The track gave GALE her first Top 15 hit on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart. “D Pic,” her latest single, was praised by Rolling Stone as an “edgy pop-rock single about receiving nasty, unsolicited sexts from men.” A Billboard “On The Rise” artist, GALE’s music has elements of pop, punk and nuances of the urban genre. As Alt Press noted, “From the get-go, GALE has set out to create her own lane with an alternative twist.”
