Dallas, Texas-Based Pop-Punk Band Further North Team Up With Hit The Lights’ Nick Thompson for New Single “Wishing Well”

Dallas-based emo/pop-punk artist Further North has just released their latest single and video, “Wishing Well.”

“’Wishing Well’ is about diving headfirst into life without a parachute. As we fall down this crazy well of life, we have the opportunity to build great friendships serendipitously. We were listening to a lot of State Champs and Real Friends when we wrote this one!” the band says about the meaning behind the song.

The latest single is filled with upbeat and catchy melody hooks accompanied by a wildly entertaining video.

About Further North:

Further North, hailing from Texas, is a fresh rock band with nothing but room to grow. Emblazoned with the best traits of such acts as Real Friends, The Wonder Years and Jimmy Eat World, the familiar emo and pop punk stylings resonate with listeners new and old. Embracing the moniker of “Sad Dad-core” Further North carves out this genre with punchy guitars, tight production and karaoke-worthy sing-alongs. With some tracks tugging heartstrings and others warranting a head-bang, variety is abundant between each release. Slowly, but surely becoming a staple of the DFW scene, the band performs on a regular basis in the area. They’ve shared the stage with everyone from Keep Flying and Nominee to The Ataris, a strong addition to any North Texas show flier.

An unmatched consistency saw Further North release five singles in 2020, a year where most bands postponed all of their releases. Anthemic choruses and replay-ability showcase the quality of each individual piece of Further North’s catalog. Most recently, they enlisted the talents of Alex Zarek (Real Friends, Belmont, Spiritbox) to direct two upcoming music videos. Further North’s catalog hearkens back to debut EP “Under the Clouds” in 2018, with as impactful a start a band could hope for.

Since 2018, the group expanded with several singles that manage to stand out from each other. Whether it’s the somber “In My Life Today” or the emphatic “Now Or Never,” a deep-dive through the discography is a must. Two Christmas songs, “Auld Lang Syne” and “Christmas Mourn” add spice to each year’s close.

With a stacked 2022 planned, including a single entitled “Wishing Well” featuring Nick Thompson of Hit The Lights, expect a fast-approaching horizon for Further North.
