Multi-Platinum producer Jonas Blue and hotly tipped U.S. band Why Don’t We have scored one of the earliest hits of 2022 with “Don’t Wake Me Up” (Astralwerks), whichranked as the top debut on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart earlier this month and went on to amass 20 million combined global streams in a few short weeks. They teamed up to unveil the adrenaline-fueled official video for the pop hit.
The exuberant clip follows the members of Why Don’t We to a Los Angeles parking lot where an impromptu party unfolds. The night’s filled with dancing, fast cars and the promise of romance. Isaac Rentz (Katy Perry, Nick Jonas, Tiësto, Mabel), who has helmed previous videos for Blue and Why Don’t We, directed and produced the “Don’t Wake Me Up” visual for Puritan Films. Watch HERE.
Upon its release, “Don’t Wake Me Up” was hailed as one of the best new singles by numerous publications, including EDM.com, ETOnline and Stereogum, which put the track in its “Pop Five.” uDiscoverMusic said, “‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ builds around high energy, pulsating beats that center the vocal harmonies of the five-piece group.” Pronouncing it “your new favourite pop banger,” MILKY noted, “Why Don’t We deliver a flawless vocal performance atop Jonas Blue’s signature captivating production.”
“Don’t Wake Me Up” is the first new release from Blue’s upcoming collaboration project, Together, which will see a stream of new music dropped across the year with exciting global talent. All these collaborations will feature the theme of togetherness, unity and positivity – a crucial message that’s needed now more than ever – and is synonymous with Jonas’ music and successful career to date.
On March 13, Blue kicked off his newly-announced residency at Ayu Dayclub at Resorts World Las Vegas. Other upcoming U.S. dates include headline shows at The Grand Boston (March 18) and Marquee New York (May 22). In February, he launched a Japanese headline tour. Look for massive festival sets to be announced soon.
Blue’s career has been astounding to date. Having been certified Platinum over 130 times around the globe, Jonas has amassed an army of instantly recognizable hit singles including “Fast Car,” “Perfect Strangers,” “Mama” and “Polaroid,” his collaboration with Liam Payne. He also boasts production credits on smash hit global singles including Ava Max’s “My Head & My Heart.” With over 14 billion global streams and over 70 million singles sales, Blue is a DJ and pop powerhouse.
Since their debut in 2016, Why Don’t We has amassed over three billion global career streams, over 900 million YouTube views, six million Instagram followers, two RIAA Platinum-certified singles, five RIAA Gold-certified singles, two Top 20 singles at Pop radio, and two Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart. The Los Angeles quintet—Daniel Seavey, Corbyn Besson, Jonah Marais, Jack Avery and Zach Herron— went back to basics for their sophomore album, flatlining all social media and picking up their instruments to personally write, record, and produce the music themselves. Led by the band’s inaugural Billboard Hot 100 charting Gold–certified single “Fallin’ (Adrenaline),” The Good Times and The Bad Ones earned their highest debut on the Billboard 200 at #3 and their first #1 album on the album sales chart.
