The New York Philharmonic and Music Director Jaap van Zweden open the 2021–22 season, marking the return to live subscription performances since March 2020, when concerts were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Philharmonic’s 180th season opens with two programs, each held in a different venue — Alice Tully Hall and the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall — during the ongoing renovation of David Geffen Hall.
