Rope Store – who’ve been previously profiled on The Music Bugle – recently had their song “Get Me Out” featured in the latest advertisement for Beyonce’s new clothing line, IVY PARK kids, in collaboration with Adidas.
“It’s initially a very strange, surreal feeling,” said member Jason Baldock. “I recognized the song, but in this new context of having Beyonce and a whole Rodeo backdrop behind it visually, it puts a new dimension to it. Firstly, I was stunned at just how well the song fitted. It works so well with the cinematic backdrop and that’s a huge relief. Secondly, it’s just nice to know that one of the biggest stars of the past 20 years liked our song enough to use it in their advert. It’s not as if she doesn’t know lots of world-class musicians and songwriters, but there’s our little song, recorded, mixed and mastered in one evening, onto an 8-track reel to reel, with one microphone and yet, it works perfectly!”
