| Vancouver indie rockers The Long War are giving sad Summer vibes on their latest single ‘Deeper Blue’ out today on all digital streaming platforms. ‘Deeper Blue’ is the 4th single from The Long War’s sophomore album Under A Heavy Sky, which is set for release on October 22nd. Full of melancholic longing, the laid-back trackdelivers a hazy, dreamy feel making one yearn for Summers past. ‘”Deeper Blue’ is about nostalgia,” says vocalist Jarrett Lee. “When I came to the West Coast, one of the first things I did was travel to California to clear my head. In all its beauty, I felt a lot of sadness and a nagging feeling of uncertainty. The song is about the struggle to hold on, while saying goodbye. It’s a place and time where I learned to embrace the beauty in life, good and bad.” Formed in Vancouver in 2016, The Long War won the 2017 CBC Searchlight Contest and their song ‘Breathe In Breathe Out’ was listed as one of CBC Music’s Top 100 songs that year. Their first album, Landscapes, debuted on CBC First Play and the band has been featured on Q with Tom Power and in the pages of Canadian Musician Magazine.
