In the midst of difficult situations, a lot of people find ways to improve themselves and their own lives to help them overcome their darkest days and New York-based rock band The Phoenix Within discusses this with their most recent track, “Remake.” “The song is about the need for reinventing oneself in order to overcome some of the toughest moments in our lives,” frontman Omar Feliciano says about the song, “There are times in which for a person to move forward and overcome, they need to shed away the weakness and the negativity, until all that’s left is a stronger, more experienced, confident and positive self.“ As the title foreshadows, the lyrics tell the story of someone who is reinventing themselves and persevering through the negative situations they’ve been facing for so long and the emotive vocal and instrumental performances convey the pain that the song’s “protagonist” feels while also showing their determination to go down the path of self-improvement. “Remake” delivers a powerful message, reminding the listener that no matter what they are currently dealing with, there is always hope and a way for things to improve. |
