With haunting melodies and bold lyrics, singer Kieran Sullivan delivers each song with captivating confidence, while producer and multi-instrumentalist Donny Dykowsky is a perfect complement to Kieran’s grit and melancholy as they both set the tone for a story-telling concept with themes of light and dark, the afterlife, and beyond. Rounding out the sound BLUEOX features Emilio Guarino on bass and Nick Cialdella on drums.
“A musical odyssey” – Cryptic Rock
When talking about “Ten Feet Tall,” the two shared, “This song is a cautionary tale. Be careful what you ask for, because in the end, it’s the journey that matters most,” says Dykowsky. “The main riff and first verse were something I was eager to share with Kieran. From there, the two of us fleshed out the lyrics and tracked entire song in a few hours” Dykowsky shared. Sullivan says it’s one of his favorite songs to play live, “It makes me feel like I’m balancing on the edge of a giant cliff, looking down exhilarated, anxious yet calm all at the same time and the only way not to fall is not to give into temptation.”
The band debuted two original songs “Walk Tall” and “Panic Attack” in 2019 and kicked off 2020 with “Black Star Road” and by paying tribute to the Grateful Dead with the release of their video version of “Brokedown Palace.” Their EP out now begins with a Pink Floyd tribute of “Fearless,” followed by a trilogy of songs that will satisfy even the most diverse musical palette.
