“Hey, Melotika here!

For those who may not know who I am, I am an Alternative Electro Pop Artist and singer-songwriter based in Toronto. Two years ago in 2018, I released for the very first time, music on digital streaming platforms. It’s been a wild journey… In 2017, I performed onstage for the first time, all the songs I was composing that are now on the debut EP entitled ‘Unaware.’ Now, here we are! I am ready to release a brand new album in 2021, but I need your help!

The Melotika adventure started 4 years ago when I wrote demos, ‘Downtown Summer’ and ‘Unaware.’ With the help of a music producer in Toronto, Jackman Jones, we got started on an EP! It was really cool to have songs come to life and create my very first musical project. Having music be released for the first time is really special.

Currently as an independent artist, I do everything on my own “the hard way,” but I really enjoy it! I have directed my own music videos, designed my own costumes, wrote my own songs, of course with the help of other producers and musicians, often my own photography, building my own website (you get the jitz!) It’s really important to play both roles: the artist, and your own manager (A&R, publicist, you know what I mean)! After the debut EP, a remix for ‘Millionaires’ was released followed by a new stand alone single ‘Joy Ride’ and the remixes and finally this year, ‘Bury The Bones’ was released.

I think this year turned out to be a great year despite all the craziness that has been going on, especially the pandemic. I happen to be one of those people that were laid off work back in March due to the pandemic and I no longer had a day job. I was forced to move back home to Montreal after living in Toronto for five years to make ends meet.  However, I don’t see that as a bad thing. I took advantage of the situation and used my free time wisely! I got to connect with my fans on a personal level online and did livestreams to make up for the lost shows.

Before the pandemic started, I began recording in Toronto new material for my upcoming album. Everything was put on pause for a few months until the studio reopened in July. All year, with my musical partner for the project Sean Savage, we have been working on a collection of songs suitable for this specific album! He is truly helping me bring my songs to life.

I have so many surprises for you in 2021, but I really need your help! I’ve been shy to ask, but I got over that and decided to give this crowdfunding thing a shot! I really think we can do this.

I am trying to raise $2000. This will cover the funds of:

Mixing & Mastering, press, album artwork, pressing physical copies of the album (Whether it is CD, vinyl or cassette for merch giveaways), and any additional support will go towards visuals, such as music videos.

I still got a long way to go on this musical journey, but together, we are getting really close! The songs I have been writing for this album are really personal, positive and uplifting. Something we all need after feeling down during this traumatic year. The style is leaning towards a fusion of disco, 90’s and early 2000’s and I am so excited! Of course, keeping it on the alternative side, it is just everything I have ever dreamed of in one project. I hope you will all love it just as much as I do!

If you are able to contribute even a little something or simply share the campaign, It would mean the world to me. I can’t thank you guys enough for being here.

PS: Every single person who contributes will have their name in the credits of the album as a thank you. Please see the rewards you can get per amount donated as well!
