February 26, 2020 (Hollywood, Calif.) – Wyatt-MacKenzie Publishing is excited to announce the third and final book in the Frankie Spencer Trilogy: This Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream (available widely on April 7, 2020). Story lines and characters, fans have come to know and love, reach new climactic heights — and resolutions come in unexpected ways. Fans will not be disappointed in what author Tommie Vaughn has created for them in this finale.
This Rock ‘N’ Roll Dream sees the beloved main character, Frankie Spencer, graduating from touring in a van with her band to touring Europe as the opening act for one of the most popular alternative rock bands on the Billboard charts. Unfortunately for Frankie, she has a tumultuous history with that band’s guitarist Jessie. Before the tour begins, Frankie gets an offer she can’t refuse: to record a new single with a gorgeous Grammy award-winning producer, whose masterful intentions will leave a lasting scar.
Abby Gennet (MTV2 host, Slunt, Riot Brides fame) enthuses “Tommie Vaughn offers a juicy and insightful look into the Hollywood music scene. Teetering on that fine line between fact and fiction, Tommie clearly taps into her own wealth of personal experience to give the reader a sneak peak inside the head of a true artist struggling to make it in the City of Angels.” Long time RIP Magazine editor and published author Lonn Friend adds, “Tommie Vaughn birthed a coherent, musical and deeply heartfelt novel right out of the box. She bled for her art and music, then gave back to the source. This Rock in My Heart invites the audience into the sacred space of an artist, it gives you a laugh, a tear, a wise crack and a woody.”
“These books are my heart and soul, just like my music is,” author Tommie Vaughn explains. “So I like to say, they are my love letters to rock ‘n’ roll and I am thrilled to share this journey with the world … It’s gonna get loud.”
The Frankie Spencer Trilogy draws inspiration from and attracts fans of Tama Janowitz: Slaves of New York; Michael Walker: Laurel Canyon; and Taylor Jenkins Reid: Daisy Jones & The Six. Tommie Vaughn’s titillating book trilogy lends itself perfectly, to becoming a binge worthy TV series.
Tommie Vaughn book reading events will be tied to live performances by her band Wall Of Tom.
Tommie Vaughn has adapted her love of the stage, to her love of the page. As lead singer and songwriter for the alternative rock band Wall of Tom (2001 to present), she has recorded four studio albums and counting. The band is a 5-piece Alternative Eclectic Rock band featuring female/male vocal duo reminiscent of Fleetwood Mac, The Pretenders, and the Pixies. Vaughn directs the bands memorable music videos, along with touring and playing live shows regularly. After fifteen years of living life in the fast lane, Tommie traded the pavements of Hollywood for the sands of Santa Barbara, where she now resides with her guitarist/husband Tony Grimes and their two rock ‘n’ roll kids.
