The title of our album, Parachuting, is in reference to the idea of taking risks and stepping out of your comfort zone in order to achieve something you couldn’t otherwise. It’s about trying to be in the moment and experience what you’re doing while you’re doing it. The idea of having no regrets and being content with your past: “if we tried our best we could remember everything, but if we’re talking remakes man, I wouldn’t change a thing.”
This idea came through a lot on the production, as well as the lyrical content. The album touches on both the positive and negative aspects of this philosophy. The other main overarching themes are the struggles that come with measurable time and just like every other album written by early 20-somethings, how growing up sucks.

The album was self-produced by us over the course of almost four years. We recorded the bed tracks in the basement of some guy we just met (who never spoke to us again after witnessing the process) and tirelessly recorded guitar and vocal overdubs, violins, horns and keys in our own basement over the following year.
We sat in a room together and arranged all the arrangements in midi for hours before bringing it to far more talented musicians who made the extra instrumentation how it is on record. We were masochistically dedicated to the cohesiveness of the project while also trying to take any opportunity to experiment with production. We hope you like Parachuting as much as we enjoyed making it.
