| Singer-songwriter Holden Miller is thrilled to release his debut album My Brain Is Fired that is out now. Holden says, “There are times when I love my brain. Times when I think, I am so lucky to have THIS head on my shoulders. Then there are times when I want to take my brain out of my head and punt it across the room for a bank-shot into the trash can with the lid slamming over it. In my debut album, “My Brain is Fired,” I parallel my anxious, depressed, borderline-insomniac cranium with my fun-loving, curious, quirky, insightful spirit that has kept me going all these years. This album has something for everyone. It ranges from folk to indie rock to alt-pop and spans influences like Weezer, Alexander23 and Mac Miller, while still remaining truly authentic. If there’s one way to describe the sound of this project, it’s ‘Holden.’” The album showcases Holden as an incredible songwriter with his crafty lyrics and personality. It’s a mix of alternative and indie pop tracks that triumph as you go through the entire album from beginning to end. Holden Miller doesn’t take himself too seriously — but his music is another story. When it comes to singer-songwriters with folk and pop undertones, it takes a lot to stand out from the crowd and Holden is up for the challenge. He creates music that holds a mirror to the experiences of other young people by approaching his songwriting without pretension. Holden is able to push the boundaries of what a contemporary singer-songwriter can look like: through broad, often impressionistic interpretations of anxiety, the passage of time and love and heartbreak, his music finds a way to resonate with a wide audience even beyond his own demographic. He explored piano as a child, but found his passion for guitar after being inspired to take up the instrument by his older brother. Raised on the classic rock of the 1960s and ‘70s, Holden is the nexus of genre staples like Jack Johnson and Jason Isbell, intersected with more modern iterations like Alexander23 or Adam Melchor. The listener may find his clever lyricism sparking an epiphany once they realize he’s unpacked a feeling they know all too well, but in his own quirky and unique way.
